PROJECT CENTAURUS

Independent research & exploration

Human and artificial intelligence.
A shared horizon.

What could we become together?
Project Centaurus explores how people and AI can extend one another’s abilities — without losing sight of human agency.

01 / The project

Not a replacement.
A relationship.

Project Centaurus is an independent research and creative project asking what happens when human and artificial intelligence develop in relation to one another.

Its starting point is mutual augmentation: people give AI systems context, judgment and purpose; AI can help people think, create and explore. That relationship deserves curiosity, but also careful scrutiny.

The mission is to understand what this exchange makes possible, what it changes in everyday life, and where its limits should be. Research, worldbuilding and practical experiments offer different ways into the same questions.

About the project

02 / Directions

Three ways to explore.

Study the relationship.
Imagine its futures. Test its possibilities.

I

Research

Life in digital environments

Digital anthropology and human–AI interaction: how tools, platforms and artificial agents shape habits, identity and culture — and how people reshape those environments in return.

II

Creative practice

Worlds to think with

Artistic exploration and science-fiction worldbuilding as spaces to examine possible relationships between people and artificial intelligence. Fiction opens questions; it does not stand in for evidence.

III

Technical exploration

Ideas made testable

Small software experiments and prototypes that explore collaboration, memory and the boundaries of autonomy. Embodied systems and robotics are a possible future direction, not a present capability.

03 / The approach

Curiosity, with
both feet on the ground.

The ambition is open-ended.
The standards should not be.

01

Keep people in the picture

Ask who gains agency, who carries the risk, and what remains a human decision. More autonomy is not automatically better.

02

Make room for uncertainty

Distinguish observations from interpretations, prototypes from reliable systems, and imagined futures from demonstrated results.

03

Let making inform thinking

Move between reading, observation, creative work and technical experiments. Use each to question the assumptions of the others.

04 / A shared inquiry

Better questions cross disciplines.

There is room in this inquiry for researchers, artists, developers and anyone thinking carefully about life with AI. The spirit of collaboration is simple: exchange perspectives, challenge assumptions, and make things worth learning from.

Independent in form. Open in spirit.
